Chapter Counselor

Job Summary


The Chapter Counselor, under supervision and direction of their Regional Director, shall advise and mentor Chapters, support Chapter leadership, and help maintain Chapter stability as best as possible. They will also work with Alumni Advisors to ensure support and resources are delivered as needed. The Chapter Counselor shall coordinate with their Regional Director to plan and deliver regular Chapter Health Visits and touch point meetings to their Chapters. They must be able to engage creatively with members and Chapters to address operational and interpersonal issues.


Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain regular communications with Chapter Leadership, Alumni Advisors, and Campus Advisors (minimum once per month)

  • Work with the Regional Director to provide reminders and guidance on required reporting (e.g. Annual Obligations, Recruitment Reports, Standards of Excellence)

  • Work with the Regional Director to provide feedback and guidance to Chapters based on their annual Standards of Excellence Reports

  • Assist Chapters with leadership training and transition

  • Help identify systemic issues and assist Chapter Leadership in resolving issues

  • Aid Chapters with strategic planning and goal setting

  • Provide continuous, year-round feedback to Chapter Leadership and Chapter at large

  • Ensure the timely delivery of resources, materials, and support to Chapters

  • Provide Health Visits to all Chapters

  • Document points of contacts with chapters to keep the Health Monitor up to date

  • Continually and properly record all relevant communications with Chapters

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Fraternity Office to continually provide new and relevant resources to Chapters

  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience at the Chapter-level or Fraternity Office-level highly preferred

  • Experience advising or mentoring chapter leaders highly preferred

  • Knowledge of Delta Lambda Phi’s current policies and procedures

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions to operational and interpersonal problems

  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently

  • Ability to guide and mentor Chapter leadership

  • Organizational, time management, and communication skills

Expected Workload

  • A moderate workload of approximately 2-3 hours per week is expected.
