Join | Starting a Chapter

Delta Lambda Phi allows gay, bisexual and progressive men to experience Brotherhood in a safe, supportive environment. Starting a chapter of Delta Lambda Phi is hard work, but chapter founders have found it worth the effort. They typically find that starting a chapter gives them real-world leadership experience and allows them to form lasting friendships in a healthy environment.

As you can see from the chart above, the process involves becoming recognized as an official Interest Group. From there, elevating the group's status to a Colony begins with the induction of pledges. A colony is basically a chapter in training, except the membership does not consist of Brothers, but rather Pledges and Neophytes in pursuit of Brotherhood. Full Brotherhood can only be attained once all obligations are met and the National Board of Directors approves installation as a chapter.
