In the
summer of 2005, the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Delta Lambda Phi converted
from a multi-campus based chapter, formerly located at CSU Northridge,
to a community based fraternity and is now designated as “Delta Lambda
Phi of the San Fernando Valley” Our chapter currently consists of active brothers and supportive alumni members. In conjunction with our brothers and other individuals in the gay, bisexual and progressive community, we strive to promote the fraternity’s three guiding principles which are:
- To promote dignified and purposeful social, service and recreational activities for progressive men, irrespective of sexual orientation
- To lead in determining the rights and privileges of individuals in society
- To present a strong and positive image which respects the diversity of all individuals, irrespective of sexual orientation
The benefit to Alpha Omicron being a community based fraternity is that you need not be a college student to be considered for membership. AO wants all men to have the opportunity to experience a journey into the bond of our brotherhood. Very recently, the chapter inducted our “Sigma” pledge class of Fall 2007. If you have considered joining a fraternity, want to make new friends and develop long-lasting friendships, then read on...
A Brief History of Delta Lambda Phi’s Alpha Omicron Chapter
In 1996, Delta Lambda Phi’s AO Chapter was designated as a
multi-campus based chapter and was born on the California State
University, Northridge campus. Six men from different walks of life
became the Alpha class of CSUN on April 10th 1996. These men bonded,
grew, learned and worked together to bring their goal of brotherhood to
fruition. The Alpha class crossed over into full brotherhood on July 5,
1996.
Since then Alpha Omicron has experienced a long and arduous but
nevertheless successful journey to bringing new men into the
brotherhood. We invite you to have a look at what the fraternity has to
offer on the following pages, and if you would like to consider the
journey to becoming a “Lambda Man” email us at:
